Salary: $3,222 - $5280 Monthly

ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non rotating work week Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional overtime as required to complete tasks.
Responsibilities
Position will handle publicity and news conferences for the Engineering Department including planning of new conferences, researching information for writing news releases, putting together powerpoint presentations and organizing media packets. Serves as editor of departments newsletter and special publications. Gathers information to organize, write, edit stories and take photographs then e-mail publication to employees, Council members and citizens. Handles the media during crisis and emergencies by gathering accurate information from staff involved in events regarding construction projects or infrastructure issues to include writing news releases, developing possible media questions with accurate responses and contacting and following up with media. This position will be responsible for the development and monitoring of department social media. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Work requires a Bachelor's level degree and four (4) years of applicable experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Must have a valid driver's license at time of application and time of hire. Successful candidate must be able to attain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.
Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the general public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.
This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive". All employees in safety sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing, pursuant to City policy, HR 15.0 Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
